EduKick Academies: Soccer Success Stories

Why does EduKick have so many success stories?

Our academies around the world train for excellence and because of the pedigree of our academy staff we are well-connected to the professional soccer community locally and internationally.

These connections allow us to offer remarkable opportunities to every player who attends one of our programs.

Here are some examples of the ways our EduKick Academies provide our participants the opportunity to showcase their talents to representatives of professional clubs

Professional club youth academy team placement – In our Spain, France & Brazil Academies each participant is given the opportunity to try out with our affiliate professional club youth teams for additional training and match opportunities.

Local college teams – Once a week players are matched against local college teams or visiting international teams from various professional clubs, squads, and professional club youth academies. The coaches often scout during the matches.

Train and Play with the Pros – Several times a year we take the squad to a different professional club for a training session, tour of their facilities, Q & A session with a club scout, coach or executive and the opportunity to watch that first team play a professional match. These events are scouted by the coaches as well.

Open Trials – At our England Academy, all players have several opportunities throughout the year to attend an open trial event in front of coaches, scouts and agents representing professional clubs. If any of our players are selected we are informed and individual trials are arranged for those players at the club or clubs interested.

Davide Somma is currently a first team squad member of the English Championship Club – Leeds United FC.

After Davide attended EduKick Madrid Academy, we helped him to obtain trials in Spain and Italy. He signed his first professional contract with Perugia, in Italy.

Davide then moved to the United States and signed a developmental contract with the San Jose Earthquakes where he became a member of the MLS Generation Addidas Squad and toured England.

He enjoyed the tour so much that Somma decided to try his luck in England and took part in trials with Queens Park Rangers, and Leeds United, earning himself a contract. In 2010, Davide made his full international debut with the South African men’s national team in a fixture with the USA.

Miguel Hamutenya from Namibia is an EduKick Alumni who is currently playing professionally with Norwegian 2nd division club Strommen FC.

Upon completing his EduKick England program, Miguel signed a professional contract with Bnei Sakhnin of the Israel Premier League and enjoyed a successful season with them.

He then signed a contract with the Glasgow Rangers of the Scottish premier division; but, unfortunately, had his work permit application refused. Reluctantly, the club could not retain his services and Miguel had to look elsewhere.

Now Miguel has established himself as a key member of the championship-chasing Strommen FC team.
