France International Football Academy & Football Boarding School Program
EduKick International Football Academies Cannes, France Academy
Welcome to EduKick France HIFA Football Development & Language Immersion Programs!
EduKick France programs are a complete package of international travel, French cultural exposure, French language study & immersion, academic study and professional football training.
EduKick is proud to partner with Hidalgo International Football Academy to ensure that participating players have “the French language & culture football experience of a lifetime!”
EduKick and Hidalgo International Football Academy believe that living, studying and training in a foreign country is an invaluable experience that a player will never forget and the benefits of such an experience will be embedded positively into that individual for the rest of his or her life.
EduKick France staff are keenly aware of the challenges that our Academy presents to our players so are fully committed to the overall education of each individual through our football development and language immersion program.
Living, playing football and studying in France as a teenager or young adult represents an enormous challenge for both the participant and the educators. From the participant courage, effort and character is required to succeed.
From the EduKick France staff, it demands professional guidance, supervision, mentorship and expertise in order to provide the required level of service to our young players.
Cannes is a picturesque city located on the French Riviera. Well known for the Cannes Film Festival that takes place each May, Cannes is also a very popular tourist destination in Europe. It offers visitors great weather, many interesting tourist attractions, museums and some beautiful Mediterranean beaches.
Popular activities in this fashionable resort community include sailing, swimming, shopping and attending the many visual and performing art events that are held at the Festival and Congress Centre each year.
Cannes also has a castle and lovely parks.
International College of Cannes (senior program)
Home base for EduKick France senior program participants the International College was founded in 1931 by the French poet Paul Valéry, the Collège International de Cannes is a private Institution of higher Education teaching French language and civilization. Participants are inserted into a specially adapted class for International students set up by the College to allow international students to study within the French system but receive much greater support and assistance from specialized staff. Junior program participants
EduKick junior program students are accommodated with local host families in the surrounding area. All EduKick host families are carefully selected and experienced with long term international student care. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is provided by the Host Family.
At EduKick France we are very proud of our standard of host families. We have taken time to find the best possible families to welcome you and look after you during your stay. We hope that you will have a happy and memorable time with your host family. They have a responsibility to try and make you feel welcome. You also have a responsibility to be a good guest!
What to expect from your host family accommodation
- It is very polite and useful to telephone your host family before travelling to England
- The house will be kept clean at all times
- Bed linen and towels will be changed every week
- Meals will be provided but please note every family is different and so each family will have different food on offer. However, please feel free to tell the family if you have any preferences. Please remember, if you are going to miss, or be late for mealtimes unexpectedly please inform your host family.
- Your family will give you their day time telephone number in case of emergency
- Your bedroom will contain a desk on which you can study or there will be an area in the home where you can study
- Your family will negotiate the best times to use the bathroom with you on your arrival Making the Most of the Host Family Experience
- Take some photos from home to introduce you and the rest of your family to your new guest family. They will be delighted to learn where you are from. Maps, photos and brochures of your neighborhood and home town are also really useful to break the ice at the start of your stay.
- Make an effort to ask about your new family, their interests and hobbies.
- Find out when you are allowed to use the bathroom in the mornings and evenings and when are the regular family mealtimes.
- Volunteer to take your turn helping with family chores e.g. washing up, setting and clearing the table etc.
- Always remember to ask your host father or mother before using the phone.
- Try and keep your room and bed as tidy as possible.
- Your host family will also either do your washing for you or show you how to do this yourself.
Remember! You’re not living in a hotel!
Finally, you must remember that French people may do things differently to what you are accustomed. It’s also easier to misunderstand a situation when communicating in a foreign language. If you are unsure about something, ask your host family
Your Course Coordinator at EduKick France is named Sebatsien Nassif. Seb is always there to listen to any questions or problems you might have whilst you’re staying with us. Don’t hesitate to speak to him! He’s a friendly guy and he’s there to help you and look after you!
I have read, understand and agree to abide by these rules set out by EduKick France, along with any supplementary rules that may be added during the course for student safety and benefit.
Senior program participants
Our main objective is for participants to become integrated members of the local community by means of sharing the same sport goals and language. This will facilitate the participant’s socialization process. This is why all of our senior program participants are registered in a French club.
The U15, U17, U19 and U20 participants are registered with A.S. Cannes, one of the most well-known clubs in all of France.
The U21 and over participants are registered either at AS Cannes or Le Cannet depending on the participants playing level and the coach’s decision.
As members of the club, each player trains 3 to 4 times per week, 2 hours-training sessions usually between 5pm and 8pm from Mondays to Fridays. There is no special instruction given to our participants, they are all treated on the same bases and receive the same instructions as all the other local players of the club who are also dedicated to become professional players.
As members of the academy, all participants receive special treatment, advice and follow-up. Once a week, our EduKick France technical football/soccer coach and trainer organizes an additional training including physical exercises, personal and collective techniques, evaluations tests, and personal physical and moral follow-up. Each session is limited to 5 participants maximum to allow for personalized attention.
Gym and fitness
The gym of AS Cannes is booked for 2 sessions per week for all participants, at moments when the professional senior players of AS Cannes are not using the facility. Being a member of our academy gives free access to the gym. The Edukick coach will give each participant a personalized program every week and is entitled to check that the program is followed through. Heavy weight is not advised for any athletes under 17 or 18. And the participants will have to respect that fundamental advice.
Matches are played on Saturdays for U15 and U17 and on Sundays for U19 and over. This will give the player the opportunity to participate in the French championship (league) at district, regional or the national level. It is up to the team coach to decide whether the player is selected to play.
For away matches, our players are transported with their team (buses, minibuses, cars…) Exception: participants 17 years old and under, with a passport outside of the European Community, the Article 19 from FIFA reserves the right for the French Football Federation to deliver or not a “Match License”. There is no restriction for players over 18 years of age. For the students who will not obtain a football license, the program will be exactly the same except that official matches will not be part of the program.
Friendly matches and tournaments
All players involved in our program are regularly invited to participate in friendly matches and tournaments either organized by AS Cannes or by Edukick French coaches. Some periods (pre-season, holiday breaks …) have a busy schedule with friendly matches. The Edukick French manager may also propose some special afternoons with beach soccer on Cannes beaches or evening entertaining programs with Futsal tournaments in one of Cannes sports halls.
League 1 matches
The French Riviera is known for its three First League major clubs: OGC Nice (30 km), AS Monaco (60 km) and OM Marseille (150 km). The Edukick France manager will invite our players to attend three first league matches at either Nice, Monaco and Marseille stadiums or a combination of all.
Junior program participants
For our EduKick France junior program training grounds we use the facilities of the football club of LE CANNET (ESCR), which has its own 4 “new-generation” synthetic (turf) fields.
Our main objective is for participants to become integrated members of the local community by means of sharing the same sport goals and language. This will facilitate the participant’s socialization process. This is why all of our junior participants are registered with a local club. As members of the club, each player trains 2 to 3 times per week, 2 hours-training sessions usually between 5pm and 8pm from Mondays to Fridays.
There is no special instruction given to our participants, they are all treated on the same bases and receive the same instructions as all the other local players of the club who are also dedicated to become professional players.
In addition to the local team training sessions participants also participate in 3 training sessions as part of the “College des Campelieres” Sport Etudes Football section. The sessions take place Monday, Tuesday and Thursday between 2.00pm – 5.00pm and are hosted at the stadium Maurice Jean-Pierre.
Matches are played on Saturdays and Sundays This will give the player the opportunity to participate in the French championship (league) at district, regional or national level. The equipment given to the student by the College des Campelieres includes:
- 2x training suits personalized for the player (one for Tuesday’s training, one for Thursday’s training)
- 2x Jersey, shorts, socks.
- 1x raincoat personalized for the player
- 2x t-shirts
The players must wear their training suit at College during the training sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays. All players involved in our program also receive a training suit from their local football club.
